STORY: In 1970, Oak Knoll was pretty much the southern most part of Napa Valley where anyone was growing grapes. We landed here to take advantage of that cool breeze from the south but also hit the warm sun and summer temperatures that contribute to some baller Cabernets. We’re in the sweet spot of Napa, and our Cabs are no exception.

VINEYARDS: We have Cabernet Sauvignon planted in 6 distinct blocks in our Oak Knoll vineyards, all on a variety of soil types, rootstocks and clones (that’s wine nerd for, we’ve got a bunch of different combinations that make our wine really complex and layered).

FUN FACT: These were among the earliest Cabernet Sauvignon vines in Oak Knoll, planted by 1st generation Jay Corley. They were shortly later budded over to Chardonnay after recommendations from locals. Thirty eight years later, in 2009, Jay’s son Kevin replanted Cabernet in that exact spot, neither of them realizing the full-circle moment until after the fact. Today, Cabernet Sauvignon is the backbone of our production.

The Corley Family has been farming this land since 1970. Over the last 55 years, we’ve put a ton of miles under our boots learning our property. Dusty boots aren’t just cool, they signal how much time we’ve spent in the vineyard. Because of that deep knowledge of the land, we specifically planted Cabernet Sauvignon in the parts of our property where it grows the best. That culminates in this bottling…
